An Intelligence

A series of portraits from throughout the artist’s life serve as training data for a neural network that reconstructs and morphs artificial versions of his face. Using deepfake technology and a synthetic voice model, the generated face delivers a monologue about its own ontological uncertainty—part human memory, part algorithmic hallucination. The work blurs biography and computation, asking what kind of subject emerges when one’s identity is reconstructed by a machine.
